This two weeks tour to Ladakh takes you through Markha Valley which is one of
the most visited trek route in Ladakh region. Its a must for every trekker comming
to Ladkah and provide some of the best views of High Himalayan and Karakoram
Ranges along with the greatest of the nomadic experiences in the Markha Valley
area. One crosses the heights of upto 4500 mts on the high points and Markha
Valley trek and the average altitude also remains above 3500 mts through the
trek. Wanla, Konzekla give a grand panoramic view and makes this trek a paradise
for all those want to be in the mountains for the obvious reason of being with
the mother nature at its best.
The tour provides a great opportunity for a lover of culture and diversity when
it takes you to Alchi, Lamayuru & Hemis monasteries which are also the oldest
and the most beautifull monastries in Ladakh region apart from taking you around
in and around Leh which is also the capitol of Ladakh. Popularly called as the
moon land, The landscape around Lamayuru monastery is one of most spectacular
things one could see on earth.

Day
1: Delhi - Leh
Early morning connect flight for Leh. On arrival at Leh airport, you will be
met by our representative at the airport and transfer to Hotel. Complete day
for the acclimatization which is 3500 Mts above sea level. In the evening short
work around the Leh bazaar Overnight at Hotel
Day 2: Leh - Alchi - Lamayuru
128 Kms drive. 4/5 hrs Leave after breakfast and drive through the picturesque
villages on the way visit Alchi monastery and by the late lunch you will arrive
Lamayuru. Afternoon visit the most interesting monastery of Ladakh region known
as Lamayuru monastery. Overnight in tents.
Day 3: Lamayuru - Prinkitila - Wanla.
3/4 hrs trek Leaving after breakfast and descending towards the village, cross
a stream gentle climb across the mountainside, then a little valley towards
the Prinkitila 3750 Mtrs which is crossed after a short climb. Leave dowards
down a narrow gorge to the village of Shilla. Cross a river on a bridge, then
on the right bank to Wanla. Visit the monastery and overnight in tents.
Day 4: Wanla - Hinju.
3/4 hrs trek Leave after breakfast and walk along the left bank of the Yapola
for another 2/3 hours until reaching the village of Phenjila. Dinner and overnight
in tents.
Day 5: Hinju - Konzkela - Sumda.
5/6 hrs trek After breakfast leave from Hinju and and ascending to the main
valley. Pas the last mountain pasture(house), then leave one or two valley on
the left and clumb up the pass. The last third is steep. From the summit of
the Konzkela (4950 Mtrs) long descend to pastures, then keep on the left bank
along the mountainside. Several good campsites at the edge of the river. Dinner
and overnight in tents.
Day 6: Sumda - Dundunchenla - Chilling.
7/8 hrs trek Leave after breakfast and the path becomes more difficult to follow
until reaching shelter formed by the rocks. Opposite these small houses, there
is a bridge, cross it and start steep ascending towards Dundunchenla (4800 Mtrs)
beautiful view can be seen from the pass. Immediately descend and you reach
a house high up in the valley and from here the valley gets narrower and narrower
until you reach Chilling. Which is famous for metals such as copper, tin,silver
used for the making of ladles, tchang pots, tea pots etc. Dinner and overnight
in tents
Day 7: Chilling - Skiu.
8/9 hrs Trek Leave after early breakfast easy and gradual walking with ups and
down and arrive in the valley of Markha and then after few hundred meters further
will reach Skiu. Overnight in Tents.
Day 8: Skiu - Markha. 7 Hrs.
Trek From Skiu, follow a good path on the right bank of Markha where one can
find great vegetation. Then cross right bank of river and cross through barren
plain and arrive at Chaluk. Thereafter walk along the left bank of river and
after another crossing climb towards Markha village. Good camp site beyond the
village and near river. Overnight in Tents.
Day
9: Markha - Tchatchutse.
6/7 Hrs. Trek Start trek towards the main valley on the right bank. The path
is sometimes difficult in the river bed and pass the monastery of Humlung. Then
carry on trek along the right bank and arrive in Hankar where there are several
houses. The path improves and cross a broad valley on the right side. The valley
becomes narrow and higher and cross bridges on to the left bank and then reaches
Tchatchuste. Overnight in Tents.
Day 10: Tchatchutse - Nimaling (4700 M).
3 Hrs. Trek. Trek starts on good path and several small inclines. The river
is rather far to the other side and walk near a small lake, then cross pasture
to Nimaling. This is one of most beautiful high valleys in Ladakh dominated
by the Kang Yaze. Trek ascent towards other side and gradually reach Nimaling.
Overnight in Tents.
Day 11: Nimaling - Knogmarula (5150 M) - Shang.
8 Hrs.
Trek Cross the Markha valley and follow long climb along the mountain side,
then zig zag road leads towards Kongmarula. Follow steep descent into gorges
and then keep walking on the left bank to Chukirmo. Thereafter crossing right
and left bank and arrive Shang, a beautiful camp in groves and there is a monastery
an hour away from the village. Overnight in tents.
Day 12: Shang - Hemis
4 Hrs. Trek - Leh 1 ½ Hrs. drive Trek starts from the riverbed, then
follow a good path through large blocks and then go left bank. You reach a dusty
trail suitable for motor vehicles and then pass a small house and series of
Chortens. Leave Martsellang on the right and follow a gently rising trail towards
Hemis. Visit Hemis monastery after that drive towards to Leh via Shey and Thiksey
monastery. Tour ends here.
Day 13: Leh
Complete day for rest and visit around the local bazaar by foot. Overnight at
Hotel
Day 14: Leh - Delhi.
After early breakfast transfer in time to the airport to connect onwards destination
flight.

Day 01: Arrive Delhi Airport. Meet our representative
and transferred to the Hotel. In case your flight arrives in the day time, in
the evening go for the "Sound and Light Show" at the Red Fort.
Day 02: Fly to Leh by early morning flight and Arrive at Leh within one
hr. Transfer to hotel on arrival. Full day complete rest to acclimatize to the
high altitude of Ladakh. In The evening walk to Leh bazaar. Overnight at Leh.
Day 03: This morning we go for a sightseeing of
Leh, the capitol of Ladkh. Afternoon at leisure or get prepared for theh trek.
Overnight at Leh.
Day 04: Leh to Tsomoriri (06 Hrs):
Drive to Tsomoriri in the early morning if you wish to spend maximum time
before the trek. Breakfast can be done at Upshi in this case. Arrive Tsomoriri;
explore the Lake and the area. Overnight camp.
Day 05: Korzok to Kyangdam (4595 M) -
05 Hrs:
Today it is an easy trek along the Lake towards southeast. The campsite is
just at the other end of the Lake.
Day 06: Kyangdam to Skitpodangsa (4563
M) or Nurboo Sumdo. 04-05 Hrs:
As soon as you leave Kyangdam, cross the river and walk towards east through
a plain ground. After 02 hours of walk you will see a spring (Chumik Sharte),
trek to the same direction leaving Nurboo Sumdo campsite behind, and the Skitpodangsa
is just across the river. Overnight camp.
Day 07: Skitpodangsa to Getpabuzak (4600
M) 05 Hrs:
Today it is again an easy walk along the Parangchu to the south. The campsite
is just before the slopes. Overnight camp.
Day 08: Getpabuzak to Tarangyokma (4731
M) 04-05 Hrs:
Trek towards the same direction passing through several slopes. You reach
the campsite after crossing the tributaries coming from the east. Overnight
camp.
Day 09: Monks, Ladakh ourismTarangyokma
to Karsha Gompa (4900 M) or Parang La base (Bubnen) (5089 M) 03-04 Hrs:
Today it is an easy walk. Walk to the same direction till a huge rock from
where you have to cross the river to the right. If you are in a big group
camp across the river, otherwise walk ahead to the base of Parang La. Overnight
camp.
Day 10: Tarangyokma to Takkarzong (4850
M):
T
oday you have to cross the Parang-La pass through the glacier. Walk form
right side of the glacier (your left) through the foothill till the crevasses
becomes very narrow or finishes, and then walk towards south to the top of
the pass. The pass has prayer flags and an other side is dry and very steep
down. The campsite is near a huge rock with waterfalls from it. But in end
of September and October water dries up, therefore you have to carry water
from the Parang base.

Day 11: Takkarzong to Thagltak (4500 M)
04-05 Hrs:
Walk down to the river (It is also called Parangchu) and walk towards east
along the river through a narrow gorge. The Thagltak is reached after crossing
the river and a steep ascent towards south. The campsite is up the hill, which
has spring water at the campsite.
Day 12: Thagltak to Kibber 03 Hrs:
Walk towards east and you can have the view of Kibber village just after a
small pass across the river. The walk from Kibber to Key takes around one
and half hours. Overnight at camp.
Day 13: Kibber - Manali
Drive from Kibber/Key to Manali. Overnight hotel at Manali.
Day 14: Kullu Dussehara, KulluTourismFull
day sightseeing of Manali. Overnight hotel at Manali.
Day 15: Transfer to Kullu airport for
flight to Delhi.
Day 16: Delhi
This day is at Leisure in Delhi. This is a chance to sample heat, dust and
frantic activity of an Indian City. You are free to "Do your own thing"
or if you wish, your tour leader will take you on a tour of India's capital.
It is an intriguing mixture of old bazaars, forts, mosques and mogul tombs,
laced together by the spacious green avenues of Lutyen's imperial city. This
day we intentionally keep as a "spare day" for bad weather conditions
for the Kullu-Delhi flights. Overnight at hotel.
Day 17: Fly Home.
