Pilgrimage Tour of Puri

Day 01: Bhubaneswar
On arrival, check in at hotel. Later go for a site seeing tour. Visit: Temples such as Rajarani, Mukteswar, Parsurameswar, Lingaraj & Brahmeswar. The Bhubaneshwar city has over a 1000 temples. Overnight at Bhubaneswar.  

Day 02: Bhubaneswar – Puri
Morning after breakfast go for sightseeing of the 2nd-century B.C. Jain sites (Khandagiri and Udaygiri caves).Later drive to Puri, en route visiting Dhauli (Santi Stupa -the Peace Pagoda), Pipili (Applique village), Raghurajpur (Artisan village where astutely crafted handicrafts, pattachitra made of pure organic stuff are made in each family).  On arrival, check in at hotel. Overnight at Puri.

Puri is one of the four destinations (Char Dham) considered the most pious of religious centers in India. As a consequence of its religious significance, Puri is one of the most frequented pilgrimage destinations in Orissa, India. With Tourism of Orissa tour packages, explore the other aspects of Puri that are more than often overshadowed by the towering Lord Jagannath Temple that stands at 65 meters and is the tallest monument in Orissa.

Day 03: Puri
Morning after breakfast go for a site seeing tour of the city. Visit: Lord Jagannath Temple built during the 12th century, is the finest example of Oriya school of architecture.  Also Visit: Gundicha Temple, Lokanath Temple, Sunaragauranga Temple, Daria Mahabir Temple and Tota Gopinatt Temple.

Later take a dip in the Narendra, Markandeya, Sweta Ganga and Indradyumna tanks, which are believed to contain water that is holy and also are credited with curative powers. In the evening visit Swargadwar Beach, it is one of the most popular tourist attractions of Puri, located at a distance of approximately two kilometers from the Jagannath Temple. This place holds great religious significance for people, as it used to be the bathing place of Sri Chaitanyadev, a renowned prophet of the Vaishnava sect. Overnight at Puri.

Day 04: Puri
Morning after breakfast go on an excursion to the famous Konark Sun temple built by the King Langula Narasimha Deva in 13 century A.D. These temples showcase the art, architecture and sculpture of Orissa.  In the evening Day is free to enjoy your holiday on the white sandy beaches of Puri. Overnight stay at the Puri.

Day 05 Puri
Morning after breakfast go for an excursion to Chilika Lake on Satpara -the largest Ramsar site of Asia. There is an option of a cruise on the lake. Satapara offers plenty of dolphin sighting and bird watching opportunities. In the evening come back to the hotel. Overnight at Puri. 

Day 06: Puri- Bhubaneswar
Morning after breakfast leave for Bhubaneswar by road. Tour ends on arrival.
