Destinations : Tapovan - Gaumukh - Gangotri trek
Day 1 : Delhi -
Rishikesh (By Shatabdi express train, 4 hrs)
Early morning ( 6.55 am ) departure Delhi to Haridwar by train and on arrival
transfer to Rishikesh. On arrival check in deluxe River beach camp on the banks
of River Ganges. Spend the afternoon preparing for your onward journey and trek
.
Day 2: Rishikesh - Uttarkashi (By Road 5 hrs)
Drive to Uttarkashi and on arrival check in hotel Shivlinga. Meet your mountain
guide and get the briefing on the trek. Spend the evening in the town. One can
also visit Vishwanath temple one of the most important Lord shiva temples in
India and the famous Nehru Institute of mountaineering which has produced various
Everest climbers. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3: Uttarkashi - Harsil (Drive 3 hrs)
After breakfast drive to Harsil and on arrival check in guest house. Spend the
day in one of the most scenic spots on the whole route. Located at a height
of over 9000 ft in the Bhagirathi valley it gives you a great opportunity to
acclimatized as well spend some time in one of the most beautiful valley in
the world.
Day 4: Harsil - Gangotri - Bhojbasa (Trek 3 - 4
hrs)
Drive in the morning to Gangotri ( 20 kms ) and then start with trekking. Reach
Bhojbasa by afternoon, where you can stay in a guest house or otherwise you
can also camp. Overnight.
Day 5: Bhojbasa - Gaumukh - Tapovan (4 - 5 hrs)
First
3 kms trek to Gaumukh ( The source of Ganges ) and then after spending some
time here, traverse the Gangotri Galcier to reach Tapovan by afternoon. The
pastures of Tapovan are a trekkers delight and icing on the cake is the welcoming
smiling faces of saints who live here. Have some nice tea with one of the saints
and then camp overnight.
Day 6: Tapovan
Full day free in Tapovan. Overnight in camp.
Day 7: Tapovan - Bhojbasa. (Trek 3 - 4 hrs)
Trek back to Bhojbasa and overnight again in guest house / camp.
Day 8: Bhojbasa - Gangotri - Harsil (Trek 4 - 5
hrs, drive 45 min.)
Trek back to Gangotri and then drive back to Harsil in nice surroundings in
Bhagirathi valley and relax after a great trek.
Day 9: Harsil - Rishikesh (7 - 8 hrs)
Drive back to Rishikesh. On the way drop your mountain guide in Uttarkashi.
Arrive in Rishikesh and again check in river beach camp. Overnight.
Day 10 : Rishikesh
Spend the day in Rishikesh & Haridwar exploring the local culture in these
two most famous spiritual towns. Come back to camp for a fun filled evening
with bon fire and barbeque. Overnight at camp.
Day 11 : Rishikesh - Delhi (Drive 45 min, train
4 hrs)
Early morning leave for Haridwar by train and on arrival take the train back
to Delhi.
